In the past, Business Career College has offered financial services and insurance professionals in Alberta the ability to earn 15 continuing Education (CE) credits for Life Insurance and A&S by attending 2-day in-person classes. In early 2021, the Alberta Accreditation Committee revisited their standards for what constitutes good continuing education on both Life Insurance and A&S. In other words, courses offering continuing education in Life Insurance and A&S need to contain more specific content in order to be eligible for accreditation.
The new requirements mean that it is now challenging to offer a 2-day course that covers all the necessary material that is needed for you to earn the 15 credits for both Life Insurance and A&S. Instead, Business Career College revised how we are doing our continuing education credits for these categories. We are now offering half-day CE credit sessions that are spread out over the year that will allow you to earn 3 ½ credits of either Life Insurance or A&S depending on the session. This is part of our Continuing Education Subscription (CE) program.
Our CE program gives you access to our highly regarded podcast, half-day webinars, and online CE catalogue, with each providing credits that you can use towards meeting your annual CE requirements for not only Life Insurance and A&S, but also your CFP®, CLU®, or CHS™ designation. It provides an easy and convenient way to earn your annual CE credits. Subscriptions are available on a monthly or yearly basis, but a yearly subscription will give you complimentary registration into our 3 half-day webinars (the ones you need to attend to get your Life Insurance and/or A&S credits).
Instructor Jason Watt also breaks down this new transition with Alberta Life Insurance and A&S Continuing Education credits in his CE Message video.
Thanks to all our Alberta students for bearing with us in this adjustment, and we hope to see you attending our half-day webinars and listening to our podcast!
